I noticed you wanted to draw. Which is a great talent to have in life. First off: I am NO Mark Crilley. I am a novice, but I think I might have advice for you that you'd find helpful.

A friend of mine told me that drawing by the book will slow you down. I had been on the Manga University website for a week strait. I copied eyes, ears, hair, and face- you name it. It took me forever to draw an entire character and it looked sloppy and unoriginal.

My friend told me I needed to find my own style. This style would be simple and comfortable for to you to draw. As you continue drawing you can add more and more detail to your art without it slowing you down because you have become familiar to your own style.

It's good to watch anime and cartoons to have an idea of what you do and don't like.

Like I said I am still working my way to be the best that I can be(don't expect Da Vinci). Good luck my friend. Your hard work and devotion will pay off over time.
